Division of labour

This is the concept that when people specialise they are more productive. 
A complicated process can be broken down into steps and assigned to specialists of each task greatly increasing the productivity of each worker. 
The increase in productivity makes the worker have more room to bargain, depending on their economic power. The famous example of this, is Henry Fords motor company.
